Field Set Up and Take Down

During the Spring and Fall seasons, we will have each team (U8 and above) supply a volunteer (Field Set Up/Take Down Crew) to set up and take down flags and nets (where appropriate) each weekend on the fields that we oversee. Each person will most likely have to commit to just one weekend of "work".

 

The following tasks must be done each weekend:

  • Set up the flags at Merritt College on Saturday Morning before 8 AM.
  • Take down the flags from Merritt College after 7 PM on Sunday.

  • Set up the flags at the Turf Field at Bishop O'Dowd at 11:30 AM (before noon) on Sunday.

  • Take down the flags from the Turf Field at Bishop O'Dowd by 7 PM on Sunday.

  • Take down the flags and nets at Shepherd Canyon on Sunday after 5 PM. (As of September 2009, the goals & nets have been set up at Shepherd Canyon for the entire season. The goals & nets at Shepherd Canyon do not need to be set up / taken down as in past seasons.)

 

The U6 teams are exempt from this requirement. U6 teams already set up and take down the fields they practice and play on.

 

Your team must have a Field Champion volunteer to keep its practice slot during the season. All teams will receive a survey collecting team referee names and the name of your team's Field Champion volunteer. Field Champions will be be contacted with instructions for how to sign up Field Set Up / Take Down.
