Volunteers - Clipper Uniform Manager

The Clipper Uniform Manager works with a uniform supplier to coordinate Clippers uniform orders. Clippers have been ordering uniforms from Soccer Post in Alameda since 2006. The information below will need to be revised if we ever switched to a new supplier.

 

Responsibilities

  • Work with the Soccer Post or vendor to select the new uniform that is comparable in quality, sizes and availability to our old uniform as well as is similar in style. This is only necessary when the uniform is no longer available.
  • Obtain uniform order form (spreadsheet) from Soccer Post in Alameda. Tom is the usual contact.
  • Have web site updated with new uniform form.

 

Required Experience

No special skills required.

 

Schedule

Uniform arrangements are usually made towards the beginning of February. Uniform order information should be published by Clippers tryouts (usually in March).

 

Location

May require a trip to Soccer Post in Alameda. Other than that, email should be all you need.

 

Minimum Term

At least two years, three years would be good so you go through an entire uniform cycle.


Uniform Cycle

The manufacturer usually only carries a particular style for three years. After that, a new style must be selected. Below is the history of styles:

  • 2006 - Cosmos
  • 2007 - Cosmos
  • 2008 - Cosmos, new teams order Adidas Toque
  • 2009 - Cosmos may not be available, probably just Adidas Toque

 

Words of Wisdom

  • Ideally, the new style will be similar enough to the previous one such that a new player on the team can play in the new one without the whole team needing to buy new uniforms.
  • When reaching the end of the current styles life cycle, new teams (U9) should just order the new style
