Responsibilities

Arranges coaching clinics such as F, E, and E/D

Laison to the JLYSSL Coaching Coordinator

Mentors/educates new coaches

Recruits Coaches

Intervenes to provide guidance if a coach appears to be in need of directive assistance

Makes him/herself available for coaches questions about behavior, sideline management, etc.

Welcomes new coaches at registration

Organizes Fall coaches dinner/meeting

Usually participates on Disciplinary Committee
Time Commitment
Varies, about 5 hours per month when active.
Required Experience
Must be an experienced coach.
Schedule
This job is most active during registration which is also the time of the year when arrangements for coaching clinics occur. The beginning of the season can also be busy.
Scheduling coaching clinics for F, E, and E/D licences occurs by late April
Location
Needs to attend some of the MSC monthly meetings. Most of the work can be done from home.

The Fall Coaches meeting is usually held around the time that practice begins. It is attended by all Class 3 and Class 4 U10 and up coaches. The U6 and U8 coaches have a separate meeting. There is usually a complimentary dinner that begins at 6:30pm. We usually use SurveyMonkey to collect RSVP's. The RSVP's can be examined/downloaded from this link.
The idea is to introduce yourself as a point of contact to the coaches, a resource for info about coaching clinics and/or questions, and to remind all the coaches that we will be conducting a coach evaluation survey each fall.
