U6 Volunteer Opportunities

 

Parents are welcome to sign up for any volunteer opportunity. If you're parent of a U6 player, these volunteer opportunties contribute directly to your child's U6 program. No soccer experience is required for any of these positions. We have detailed descriptions for each of the jobs below, and we are in the process of migrating job descriptions to our new wiki. • U6 Program Coordinator - Allison Rodman

• U6 Program Coordinator in Training - OPEN - Work with the current U6 PrCommissioner to take over for next year. Upside: your efforts have a huge impact.

• Guides - OPEN - edit, copy and distribute U8 Gudes (Coach Guide, Parent Guide, Game Monitor Guide). Guides have already been developed, so updates are minor. Upside: work at home as suits your schedule.  

• U6 Wiki Pages - OPEN - Work with the Volunteer Coordinator and U6 Program Coordinator to edit this page. Upside: work at home as suits your schedule.

• U8 and U6 Coaches Day Organizer - OPEN - set up registration for Coaches Day in Sportability and organize volunteers for Coaches Day. Upside: coaches appreciate your help.

• Coaches Day Refreshments Manager - OPEN: 2 positions - Buy (you'll get reimbursed) and bring refreshments and food for Coaches Day. Upside: coaches dig you when you stroll in carrying food.

• New Parents Night Organizer - OPEN - organize the two parents nights. Upside: As a new U6 parent, you are going to attend this event anyway. If you attended last year, you know the ropes. Why not get volunteer credit for it? 

• New Parents Night Aide - OPEN: 8 positions (4 for each New Parents Night) - organize the two parents night. Upside: As a new U6 parent, you are going to attend this event anyway. If you attended last year, you know the ropes. Why not get volunteer credit for it? 

• New Parents Night Refreshments Manager - OPEN: 2 positions, 1 for each New Parents Night - Buy (you'll get reimbursed) and bring refreshments for New Parents Night. Upside: Attendees dig you. 

• New Parents Night Attendance Tracker - OPEN - Track attendance for New Parents Night. Upside: work from home on your schedule.

• U6 & U8 Equipment Coordinator - OPEN - Organize assembly of Coaches Bags for U8 and U6 teams for Coaches Day. Get equipment as needed to teams. Upside: hand select your child's uniform and personally make sure your team is outfitted.

• U8 and U6 Coaches Bags - OPEN: 4 positions - Help assemble of Coaches Bags for U8 and U6 teams for Coaches Day. Upside: hand select your child's uniform and personally make sure your team is outfitted.

• U6 Match Secretary - Kevin Hillesland - create game schedule in Sportability on the web. Upside: set your team's game schedule for the season.

• U8 Match Secretary in Training

• U8 and U6 Coaches Binders - OPEN - Assemble the U8 Coaches Binders. Upside: make sure your coach has all the info s/he needs.

• Uniform Return on Picture Day - OPEN - Set up a uniform return box and sign on Picture Day and advertise about it in our newsletter. Collect returned uniforms. Upside: flexible work schedule.  

• Uniform Return Helper - OPEN: 2 positions - Wash returned uniforms at home and/or sort uniforms at the Equipment Shed. Upside: flexible work schedule.  

• Positive Coaching (PCA) Committee Member - OPEN - organize 3 Positive Coaching (PCA) workshops per year and meet annually with the League PCA Committee. Upside: Work with volunteers acorss the 8 Clubs and shape your Club's commitment to positive coaching. Your efforts have a huge effort. 

• Field Steward for Shepherd Canyon - OPEN: 3 positions - organize 3 Positive Coaching (PCA) workshops per year and meet annual with the League PCA Committee. Upside: Work with volunteers acorss the 8 Clubs and shape your Club's commitment to positive coaching. Your efforts have a huge effort.
