The Volunteer Committee assists the Volunteer Coordinator with various tasks: gathering up, checking and consolidating Team Volunteer Rosters, communicating with Team Volunteer Coordinators, working with Volunteer Reporting Survey results to report volunteer hours, and other tasks that may arise.
Committee members will take on whatever tasks they are comfortable with and are not obligated to a long-term role! Please contact the Volunteer Coordinator if you are interested.

Volunteer Roster Checker (will be by age group in the future) FILLED for 2008

- Check them for completeness: each player is listed and each player's family has identified a specific volunteer commitment (suitable for the age group, as some events are targeted for certain age groups)
- If not complete or if you have have questions, email them to the coach until everything's sorted out.
- Email the completed roster to the Volunteer Database Administrator
- Update the MSC Coaches list (a Google spreadsheet) with the date that the roster was accepted.
Volunteer Database Administrator (Steve Brown)

- Copy and paste them into the Big List of Volunteers (a Google spreadsheet)
- Update the MSC Coaches list (a Google spreadsheet) with the date that the roster was loaded into the Big List.

Unleash your Inner Author: Become a Wiki Editor!
There is so much to gain from enriching this wiki with personal stories, photos, tips - heck, even snack ideas and good places to shop for snack - the options are endless. Until we create an Editor-in-Chief position that can help guide writers, we'll just solicit material and ask you to post it yourself. Startle your family by showing them your byline on the Montclair Soccer Club's wiki!
Volunteer Analyst - Reporting on Volunteer Hours Submitted (Kate McKean)
The reporting is done through Survey Monkey, an online survey tool. Help is needed sometimes to generate the survey results and get them into a Google Spreadsheet so that they can be published, distributed to Team Volunteer Coordinators, and summarized for reporting to the Board. Excel, Google Spreadsheets, and Survey Monkey are all used here, and we can teach you ALL of them!
Become a Volunteer "Missionary"!
Are you a genius at convincing people to volunteer? Do you have successful volunteer strategies from PTAs, other outside nonprofits, church or other settings? Do you know all about the new state-level office of volunteerism? Help us tune our policy, create incentive programs to raise the depth and breadth of our volunteer engagement! YOU can make up this position, the field's wide open!
Write Volunteer Position Descriptions
We made a lot of progress this year with getting a lot of material written and posted here on the wiki, but there are still position descriptions and "how-to" stuff that we need to write! It's all fill-in-the-blank kind of effort and mainly requires a phone call with the person who KNOWS the job but just can't seem to write it down. (YOU know how those people are...)
Other Stuff
We may need some help getting information moved between the Registrar's records and our reporting spreadsheet to keep track of parents who have bought out their volunteer requirement.
