The Wiki Wizards are a group of volunteers who comb through our wiki looking for pages that need updating, job descriptions to complete, broken links, etc. These brave souls are not deterred by the words "Web 2.0" - they have watched the video, they are willing to click the Edit and Save keys - in short, they are heroes!
Responsibilities
- Read sections of this wiki
- Identify pages that are incomplete or placeholders
- Complete them
Time Commitment
Required Experience
If you can string words together into a sentence fragment, you've got it.
Schedule
Any time during the year, especially in the winter before things get busy.
Location
Anywhere you have a computer and an Internet connection.
Minimum Term
At least one season, preferably more so you can mentor others!
Detailed Instructions
- Request an assignment, or be a self-starter and hunt for pages that have placeholder language - like "..." or "something else". There are many!
- Tell the Wizard-in-Chief what page you are editing.
- Edit away. Start with a little note at the top that says "Under Construction by <your name>" so others know that you've staked this page out. If you need information about what the job is, for instance, look for pages that link to this page; look in the Directory for names of people related to this subject, and email them; or ask the Wizard-in-Chief for advice on where to get answers.
- Edit, Save, Edit, Save, Edit, Save - repeat till you're done, or exhausted.
- Notify the Wizard-in-Chief and remove the "Under Contruction" sign from the top.
- Log your hours in the Volunteer Tracking Survey, and you're done!
